Verillias - MW monk Application

If you wish to apply to us, this is the place for you!

by Verillias » 05 Dec 2018, 01:52

I'm a Swedish lad named Anton currently 24 years of age

Outside of WoW I'm a freshman at uni and work part time as a jeans salesman. I have a huge interest for music and I usually spend the fridays and saturdays going out with the mates having a few drinks.

Character Information:
I play a Mistweaver Monk and have mained that since HFC. Had a little detour in the launch of BFA thinking Resto Shaman would be a cool thing but changed my mind rather quickly and went back to MW and have no intent on switching that up again.

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
My choice of talents depends on what is needed of me, my go too talent build would be a tank sitting build. Upwelling with a Jade Statue along side manatea and Chi Burst. Defensive cd is chosen depending on the fight but I tend to lean against Diffuse Magic for the high mitigation of magic damage. I choose these talents because I find them the bis talents atm but as stated before different fights require different things and I change things on the fly when needed or reasonable.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
I consult forums and discord channels such as "Peak of Serenity" but I also weigh them out and try to tune the balance between my stats.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
When I am in doubt I consult the forums and the discord channel for mistweavers but I also look at loggs of high end guilds and try to see what and why they chose the things they did.

What state is the state of your Heart of Azeroth?

Raiding History:
My mythic history is very short actually only really spreading my wings in ATBT where I went 9/11. I spent quite a long time (Highmaul - end of Legion) raidleading for a casual heroic guild named Innocent Bystandards on the server Ghostlands. I wanted that guild to become more than it was but decided to leave it for what it was and join a guild who were 4/11 atbt in May. I've always raided since I started playing back in TBC but never had the balls to push for higher content until Legion. (was content with AOTC but realised I can go further)

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
I love raiding, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Previous raiding experience is alot of casual banter and only HC clearing up until ATBT as stated before. Current raiding experience is what I left that world for currently 3/8M.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
I like my current guild socially but lateley there's a feeling of focus being lost all the time and raidtime not being respected and treated as progression at all. This has left a kinda sour taste in my mouth as I left a great social banter guild for this guild. I wanna see how far I can go and I wanna progress as far as I can. I have the comitment and hopefully the skill to be a part of your roster.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?

We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this?

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
It's been a while but ready to dust off the old TS yes.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
Past raidleading has given me a good eye for details but I pride myself in being good at staying alive. Other than that I keep a good positive attitude even when times are rough and I like to improve myself as much as possible.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
Haven't played WW since ATBT but am willing to look it over and try to maximize it's potential.

How do you feel about progression raiding?
As stated before never been in a "cuting edge guild" before but I play this game to progress and do so with people who want the same thing and understands the difference between progression and casual farmbosses etc.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
I saw your post on the WoW forums and thought it looked interesting. I do not know anyone in the guild as off now but I can't wait to meet ya! (hehe)

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
I know I don't have huge mythic experience but I figured I have to give it a shot and yeah here we are!

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes! I love m+ and I try to farm mats as well during the weeks! Being in Uni means I don't have a huge ammount of time but I try to stay active!

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Well you alrdy know my buddy Pengu from a chat with him but no it's all there up above!

Tell us a joke:
I wouldn't buy anything with velcro, it's a total rip-off!
