General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location: My name is Lukas, I am 26 years old and I'm from germany.

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)

I'm mostly interested in video game related things and woodworking. I do play Dota from time to time but my favourite games are RPGs like the Elder Scrolls series.

Battletag: Enifire#2288

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

Weapon Master - Shadowstrike is a big part of your damage. This talent gives you more Shadowstrikes and therefore also more combopoints

Shadow Focus - With the amount of Shadowstrikes you use during Dance this saves you a huge chunk of energy which you need to make full use of your Dance window

Deeper Strategem - Finisher damage is quite important since finisher are the biggest part of your damage and you also get a 6th combopoint slot which let's you waste less of them during Dance should you get a Technique proc

Cheat Death - It's your default choice for progress. Your less likely to die to stupid stuff. There are some niché uses for the other 2 like Elusiveness should there be predictable non-aoe abilities (mostly pvp) and Soothing Darkness should there be no one-shot mechanics and trickling damage and you wish to help out the healers or for solo content.

Shot in the Dark - Default choice for pve and pvp content. Prey on the Weak is more niché and mostly used if there's a priority add that can be stunned

Enveloping Shadows - It's just too good. Gives you more Dances through the CDR and you're more flexible using them since it's the only talent that gives you a second charge

Master of Shadows - You Dance a lot, meaning you get a lot of energy which you need during dance. Secret Technique is for aoe situations and Shuriken Tornado used to be for more priority target in the past (not many cases so far)

How do you prioritize your stats and why?

Vers>crit>mastery>haste

Vers is just better mastery since it makes everything hit harder not just your finishers, same with crit just more unreliable. Finishers
are a big part of your damage but not that big so it's worth less and haste is pretty much useless since you don't need the energy so all it does is make Rupture tick more

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?

Mostly through logs, trying stuff myself and discussing it with some of the bigger rogue figures i know. Other than that a bit of class discord reading (mostly for alts and stuff)

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience: My whole raiding journey began in WoD with HFC being the first tier i cleared on mythic with a family and friends guild. Since then i've cleared every raid on the highest difficulty with Trial of Valor being the only exception with only 2/3 bosses killed with my peak being my lasted guild with which I've reached a top 150 ranking during Nya'lotha

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

[Wings of Ysondre-Aegwynn] Joined the guild during Legion pre-patch and stayed till the release of Tomb of Sargeras. I left because they wanted to transfer the guild over to horde and I wasn't ready to give up the alliance way back then.

[RR Inc-Ravenholdt] Applied and joined mid Tomb progress and left a couple of weeks before BfA pre-patch hit due to a change of atmosphere in the guild, which almost made me give up on raiding entirely.

[Polar-Silvermoon] Joined them near the end of Legion and had to leave during Battle of Dazar'alor because the guild lost quite a few players and decided to disband.

[Whatever-Auchindoun] Had a quick visit in Inner Sanctum but joined Whatever shortly after. Cleared CoS and everything up to Azshara with them but the guild struggled too much and decided to disband.

[Inner Sanctum-Silvermoon] Decided to go back to Silvermoon and rejoin the boys. Got my Azshara kill and cleared all of Ny'alotha with them. Our GM called it after the raid was cleared and disbanded the guild but came back a few months before the initial SL launch date and asked me to join again and rebuild the guild. Sadly the guild is not what it used to be.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes

We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this?
Yes

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I know how to fully utilize my class to make the encounter easier. I also have no problem doing special jobs or call out interupts soak order or whatever small things have to be done

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
Very comfortable

How do you feel about progression raiding?
It's my main thing in this game. I like figuring out timings and what my class is capable of and i generally like the challenge

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
Found you on wowprogress

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
Was checking out your guild page, saw your boss kill memes if you can call it that so i thought looks like some lads/lass's you can have fun with and wanted to give it a try

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes. Mostly m+ or some meme pvp then once the tier or expansion is over and nothing is going on back to Dota or Skyrim/Oblivion

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
I have a druid alt that is pretty much up to date in terms of gear/renown. I'm pretty much a rogue brain but I thought I might aswell add it.

Tell us a joke: 8.3 PVP season xD

Thanks for applying! I've copied your app to our members section for discussion and we'll get back to you asap, although realistically it will be in the New Year.

Sorry about the delay getting back to you, but we've been super held up with apps for various reasons.
Unfortunately we won't be able to offer you a trial at this point, but wish you luck in finding a suitable guild.
