Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:

My name is Jason, I'm 33 years old and I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands.

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)

I'm a mortgage advisor for a high street bank, I got married last year (yes during lCovid, but our island has been pretty covid free). I have 2 labradors Lexi and Maisie. I enjoy cycling outside of work and WoW.

Character Information:

Battletag: Rendition#21510

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

Like most classes there are clear "winners" in the talent trees. I have selected the most appropriate talents to extract the most dps from my class. I move a few talents around depending on the fight and the survivability ones are a quality of life choice again that I change now and again. I spend a lot of time reading blogs and posts about talents and review high end raider logs to review this regularly.

How do you prioritize your stats and why? I use Simcraft to sim my upgrades and gear choices, I don't feel that coming out with some answer that I choose them myself is fair.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class? I like wowhead, sometimes use icy veins. I watch a lot of high end youtubers and learn tricks along the way.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:

I raided from BC through to Cataclysm and took a lot of my time, I jacked it in around then to pursue life. I have returned at the end of BfA and have caught the bug again. I am currently in a social/casual guild and feel that I want to push myself again and be around like minded people who want to perform their best and progress.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

I was in Pretentious and Spiritus Sancti in WotLK which was my main raiding guilds. We were amongst the top of the realm at that stage.
Since my return in BfA I have been in Vikings of the Horde. Reasons for wanting to move on is the progression and reward of raiding with other like minded people.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes these times work really well for me!

We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this? Sundays are great for me too.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak? Yes I am vocal when needed and feel voice chat is essential for raiding.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid? The biggest one would be consistency, I like to play the best I can and am always happy to hear criticism or different ways of doing things. THe same as if I have seen something done better I am happy to share this.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs? BM fine, new survival not so much. I will learn what is required to support progression.

How do you feel about progression raiding? It is what I want to do and have done for a lot of my wow history.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild? Wowprogress whilst looking for other raiding options.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years? Great raid times for me I can attend every day and gives me more family time beforehand and I am keen to go toe to toe with other great players and kill some bosses along the way.

Do you play outside of raid? Yes I am keen on M+ - only managed pugs but am looking for something more stable. Also play my rogue alt and have several others that I do not use other than for crafting etc.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application? If you want to have a chat on discord/teamspeak I am more than happy to do so. I feel that until you actually raid with a guild/group it is hard to see if things will work out so I hope I get the chance to play with you all and have a bit of fun along the way.

Thanks for applying, but I'm afraid we will not be offering you a trial. Good luck finding a suitable guild.
