General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location: Alex, 23, Brighton UK

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc):
In my spare time I enjoy playing a variety of sports, football and tennis being my main ones, I also play guitar and have been since I was about 10 years old but have recently lost interest in it. In terms of work I currently work for a bank in the UK. I'm a big dog lover, I have my own Labrador who is distracting when I am playing the game xD

Character Information: Characters name is Grahl, 222.69 ilvl affliction warlock, variety of bis items. I started playing my warlock just over a month ago now and have learnt my spec fairly quickly, but there is still learning and improvement to be done which I am keen to do.

Battletag: Mughy#2578

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
1: Drain soul - bis for all situations (dont think I've ever changed it in pve)
2: Siphon life - bis for single target fights or fights with very few adds, I run absolute corruption on KT but it loses value everywhere else
3: Demon skin - just a personal preference tbh, minor help for healers but dark pact is also very good for fights like hungering.
4: Phantom singularity - best for all fights as it has an active cleave mechanic, I don't use Vile taint much as I believe the soul shard is wasteful and you get more damage with a malefic rapture.
5: Mortal coil - bis imo, helps top me up in healer heavy fights (gotta give love to the healers)
6: Haunt - bis for all pve situations
7: Dark soul: misery - bis for all situations (especially with pi, but not during hero as the gcd window hurts me)

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
I prioritise my stats as Mastery > Haste > crit > verse. Once hitting roughly 71% mastery, I feel it starts to lose a bit of value per stat and start to invest a bit for priority into haste and crit.
I currently sit at 73% mastery > 15% haste > 18% crit > 3% vers. I am lacking a bit of haste at the moment and my next aim is to get that higher.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
I watch a lot of videos from Kalamazi on youtube and Bamesjond for m+, I've gained some support from warlocks in my guild and sometimes use icy veins and wowhead to see if anything changes from updates.

Raiding History:

WOTLK: I use to main a rogue in wotlk and despite being very young when the game came out, I managed to progress the first 3 bosses of ICC

Cata: In cata I mained a resto druid and only really progressed in dragon soul. I managed to get up to and kill hc ultraxion before quitting until MOP came out.

MOP: I continued with my resto druid for the first raid but then quit the game until patch 8.3 came out.
(the rogue and druid mentioned above have been deleted and are unable to be recovered)

BFA: I managed to pug just 3/12M bosses and raid lead my first pug curve kill

SL: I am currently 4/10M but I am pushing to try and clear as much content as possible.

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
Having been very young and a lot of it happening quite a long time ago it is hard to remember a lot of the details about my experience. In BFA I mained an arms warrior (off spec prot) and use to love spamming execute. As mentioned above I managed to pug 3/12 mythic and raid lead a pug curve run. I didnt take raiding too seriously in bfa despite feeling like I improved a lot in patch 8.3.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Before my current guild I created a guild with my friends called Solace on Nagrand realm. I left the guild shortly after clearing the raid on normal difficulty due to another officer and myself falling out and I received real life threats. I completely removed myself from that situation as I play this game for fun and to kill bosses with likeminded people.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, this fits around my work schedule and I dont see any changes in the foreseeable future that would impact my attendance to raids.

We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this?
Yes, I am keen to progress as much as possible.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I bring a positive and humorous attitude for raids, I love laughing and making others laugh but also stay focused to get something done. I try to make every environment as positive as possible and do my best to keep people motivated and not be disheartened.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
Being semi new to warlocks I haven't spent too much time in off specs (I use demo for Torghast). But if it is a requirement to play them for a specific fight and it bring a huge advantage I can definitely put some time in to learning them.

How do you feel about progression raiding?
Wipes are natural, it's part of the learning process, no need to get frustrated over wiping. It all just leads to a more satisfying kill imo.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
I currently play on Nagrand realm which is linked.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
I sometimes watch one of your guildies stream your kills it helps me learn how you handle mechanics and help me when/if I eventually get to those fights. Being among the top guilds on the realm I feel your guild is every raiders desire to be in, every raider strives to be the best and clear content and I'm shooting my shot.

Do you play outside of raid?
Yeah, I spend some time doing m+ (although this current week is horrible) I sometimes to tmog runs, the occasional casual pvp (No arena) sometimes I will just sit in Oribos afk and watch my friends stream their keys on discord. Being social is the most important thing for me

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
I would like to note that I am currently Alliance, however I am willing to race change if I am accepted for a trial :)

Tell us a joke:
How many murlocs does it take to change a lightbulb?
Just 1, but they'd probably bring 12 mates to help

Application declined I'm afraid.
We're usually more keen on taking trials on our own realm but your logs aren't strong enough for me to want to ask someone to faction change when I think it would be hard for you to fight for a spot on our current dps team - if they ever improve then by all means take another look at us.
