Back when I first applied, I was in college. Now, I'm still in college, however, instead of a BSc, I'm doing my PhD part-time, I just finished my MSc part-time. That pretty much sums up my free time.
I work in healthcare as an engineer/applied scientist. I'm specializing in mental illness detection tools or trying to.

What strengths do you feel your class currently brings to the raid?
Not much damage. Int buff aside from that, this tier is rough for mages. You can't use your utility to avoid damage. Otherwise ice-block for soaking things but that hasn't been of major importance in a while. I guess mobility for certain mechanics?

You wouldn't be able to see some WAs I have unless the boss does something specific. I also have another set of WA I haven't had a chance to use because I don't have a guild, but its a timer and WA template Id use to make additional custom timers for whatever I need.

(Legion)Other than having bad luck with finding a guild, my problem is that legion is getting further and further away, so my logs/proof of how good I am are getting stale, without much else to show because I've abstained from raiding till recently because of it.

Describe your previous/current raiding experiences/guilds. Including reasons for leaving them:
CE in Legion - with chosen achive too (Clear ToV on mythic without dying before next raid comes out)
BFA
7/8 Uldir (we got Ghuun but the guild died just after that leaving a few without the kill)
After this, I pugged HC and Mythic before quitting the game. Every guild I've joined thus far has turned out to be a clique. I've been struggling to find a permanent guild since. Tried two guilds in BFA.
SL
I tried again in SL after playing on several classes in mythic+ at about 3k rating. Joined a guild on Draenor then another back on kazzak clearing the 3 raids on mythic in S4. Both guilds turned out to be duds. Also have 'we are all made from stars (mythic)' for whatever its worth

I don't recall the name of the other guild, the GM and officer team had a gambling problem, which would make raids hostile when one of them lost 2000 pounds (UK) over the weekend, every other weekend.....

Cucumber-Draenor (This guild adopted a new name each expansion over the last few expansions, this is something I learned after the fact, I don't mean anything by it. I just find it odd considering what happened, the GM stepped down later)
I was in this guild for 3.5 weeks learning 31 bosses on mythic. I got really good feedback from the GM over those weeks, and then they pulled the carpet on me. GM wouldn't say anything, and the officer was making bs up. When challenged, he couldn't back up what he was saying. It was an idiotic experience.
I don't want to layer a dozen screenshots but just to show that s4 affixes were kind of a meme - I did make mistakes but it was more so from lack of experience when others have done the bosses before.

I played in a guild called Ancient Tempest for ~3 hours over two days and left. The guild wasn't for me. I pinged the GM before leaving, it wasn't anything personal, but the guild wanted for me.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
I applied before and got accepted, but I didn't want to eat the transfer cost - if I do get a trial, I'd prefer to do it x-realm. Otherwise, my stance on that would be the same. I transferred over when I joined Cucumber because the GM seemed reasonable, only to get burnt, reminding me why I didn't transfer in the past. It's just in case. Transfers, among other services in wow, cost way too much for what they are.
I ended up talking with rynamite back then and kept him on my bnet list because the guild seemed nice and I've said the above back then. Regarding the transfer cost.
Do you play much outside of raiding?
I'm toying around in OW2 (mostly hanzo, mcree and ashe for better eye-hand coordination which I don't get from wow), but otherwise, I don't have time or interest in other games. I used to compete in sc2.
